Chief Master Sergeant Wesley E. Helseth is the Senior Enlisted Leader, 5th Maintenance Group, Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. He serves as the principal advisor to the maintenance group commander on issues concerning 1,713 personnel from 18 Air Force Specialties performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on 27 assigned B-52H aircraft, 476 Air Launched Cruise Missiles and 155 Minuteman III Re-entry systems valued at over 11 billion dollars. Additionally, he is responsible for the morale, welfare, readiness, professional development, and training of the group’s Airmen, ensuring they are ready to execute the 5th Bomb Wing’s peacetime and wartime mission, guaranteeing two legs of the Nation’s nuclear triad are poised and ready.
Chief Master Sergeant Helseth grew up in Modesto California and entered the Air Force in 1999 as an Electrical and Environmental Systems Technician. His background includesholding key duties within
7 different MAJCOMS to include Aircraft Mechanic, Flight Chief, Senior Enlisted Leader, Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement program manager, and various leadership positions at the Squadron and group level. His stateside assignments include bases in New Mexico, California, and Florida. He also served overseas in Spain and Turkey and has deployed in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Inherent Resolve, and Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa.
